fith gear is winning like a little bitch, i havent taken it apart yet and dont want to untill i get another one to put on, she is my daily driver...but im having a hard time find the same year but i found one out a 97... anyone got a clue?

Yes, it will fit and work. If it's from a three cylinder, the gears are going to be quite a bit shorter, you'l notice your engine screaming on the highway. Also a good chance a junkyard tranny (sounds like someone you'd pick up for an hour of illicit hijinx) will have bad synchronizers. Fifth gear is kinda outside the main transmission housing, under the black cover. Don't know how much you can accomplish, but there's a chance it can be fixed without splitting the case. Plug the junkyard tranny in, if it works fine you're good, if not you've got something to drive while you get your current one fixed.

thanks dude, ill check it out for sure and let ya know how it works out i had other problems with the tranny seal leaking into the clutch casing causing it to slip...i kinda figured it was that b/c i did the fluid, clutch slipped for about a week and then it went away i checked the level it was low after a week so i guess its that, so the clutch is contaminated now so im gonna see how this 97 works out ill let ya know for sure, thanks again
