I have to do a rocker panel replacement on 2 cars, a '97 swift and '96 metro. Only source I found was going to sell them to me for $156 (CDN) / pair (ugh!). From reading here and from what I've seen this is a common problem and sources are scarce or $$$.

I have access to metalworking equipment and am going to stamp out my own out of 20 gauge. Willing to stamp out a few pairs if there's interest. They won't be fancy but will try to work out the best dimension for either welding or using panel glue. Price will depend on interest. PM or reply to this thread.

Rear wheel arches may follow...again depending on interest.

Cheers,
Rian

16 Gauge

And I'd be up for both rear wheel wells and the rocker panels.

:-P

I can't believe you can find the rocker so cheap at 156/pair. I was last quoted aroung $1000 for one side, obviously custom work would be cheaper.

I would like to know your source!

But seriously, it would be cool if you could create some rocker panels, and hopefully you would be willing to ship them to ontario.

Just taking measurements and hope to have something figured out by early next week. They're kind of weird because there's no real curve to them...just a bend at the pinch weld at the very bottom and then another bend. I have to take some closer looks tho.

Ertman, maybe that was installed but still that's a ridiculous price...I called an auto body supplier store and felt the $150+ / pr was ripoff, even for just the pieces.

I will see about what gauge I use...I've mainly worked w 20 gauge for panels.

Again, the pieces won't be spectacular but for so many of these on the road I'm super-surprised at how scarce replacement panels are...will beat newspaper and bondo, I guarantee!!!

Cheers,
R.

I don't get that. Why are they only available for 2nd gen only?? So stupid.
Anyway, this has me majorly bummed out. I too, am also in need of '95-'01 rocker panels for my Swift.
If you have any available, let me know. Thanks.
