If you own a '95-97 Metro / Swift with no EGR, take a look at the back of your throttle body and tell me if this vacuum line has hose or cap. Thanks.

This first image is showing you where to look.

A continuation...

That is a vacuum line port, unconnected it will cause idle issues.

As well, it would appear you that you are illegally disabling the EGR port, if the car is inspected, the fine is rather large, from what I hear. As well it is also part of the vaccuum control system, so it may well lead to erratic behaviour of the engine when at idle.

Okay, so if it should have a hose connected to it, where does that hose lead?

The car has been inspected and passed SMOG twice. Are you sure that a '97 1.3L is not supposed to have a plate over the EGR port as seen on mine? I suppose the car could be from out of state.

With a few minutes research on the forum, it would appear there are non-EGR cars out there. I guess you must have missed those threads though.

Did you bother to look at what years those non-egr cars are?

91/92 were the last years for the fed cars to be available without the EGR, even the MK1 turbo cars came with the EGR system intact. Either way the cars without the EGR had the port deleted from the intake casting, not a blocker plate.

If you look at the sticker on the inside of your hood it will show you the EGR system hooked up and fully functioning via various electronics and vacuum lines.

Let's take a look at those "stickers" on the inside of my hood, shall we?

Isn't it funny "gamefoo21"? Just when you thought you were an expert and knew everything there was to know about these cars, you suddenly find out you're just a noob.

Any other non-EGR MK4's out there? Particularly looking for a '97 1.3L like mine.
