I've been through all the transmission-related threads I can find, but still can't tell whether my transmission is covered in the "MK2/3" section. Anyone know the answer to this?

If it's not, is there a rebuild guide on this particular gearbox?

Second question: does anyone know where I can find just the synchros for this transmission? I hate to buy a $170 rebuild kit when I'm pretty sure I don't need the majority of the parts.

There is a thread with transmission teardown pictures and instructions from the factory service manual on here.
A rebuild kit is best, due to giving you new bearings, which is a good idea. If you by a bearing kit and do the rest yourself, you are at less than $200 for a rebuild trans, thats less than a used worn box. You can get synchros from the dealer, gm or suzuki. If its just sticking going into 2nd an/or first on downshift then you can just replace those two synchros for about $60-70, new input shaft seal, ideally shift shaft seal, about$100 in parts from the dealer ad you should be good to go. Might be a good idea to confirm symptoms here with knowledgeable members first so you ensure you fix the problem area right the first time.
