hello, please help me, i have back pain, and now there are arm pain too,

i cant afford the armstrong penalty anymore,,, (steering is very hard and heavy, and i have to drive it 8 hours a day.... )

is there any simple way i can have power steering on my 01 swift (american)
did any model of the american swift ever had power steering? if so, which part will i need and are they direct bolt on ?

and the other question is, will the ECU off a 98 firefly works for a 01 firefly ?
01 is 2 ignition coil and 98 is distributor,,

Some 95+ models did come with power steering. Find one and swap rack, hoses, resevoir, pump etc and you are set. Will be a busy days work but not terribly difficult. I may know where you can get the parts, but realize it could be a $400-500 expense to do this project.
I don't think those ecu's will exchange, but I can't say for sure. Why are you switching ecu's around?

98 to 01 1.3 liter = DIS

ECU Swap will work.

97 and older = Distirbutor

NO.

01 and older 1.0 liter = Why would you even try?

ecu swap may not work. This is due to some years using one coil pack, others using two. I suspect each would use a different ecu.

Early 98 uses two packs mounted where the distributor would go.

Late 98 to 01 uses two packs mounted to the valve cover.

Never ever seen one that uses a single 4 pole coil.
