OBD1 1995 Metro with G10. 10* advanced cam sprocket with econo cam from 3Tech, SuzukiRD aluminum underdrive crank pulley, fresh tune up with full synthetic at last oil change.
Did a little science experiment to try to find the best timing setting with the above tweaks. Running premium at about 4500 in elevation. About 30 degrees Fahrenheit during run.
Took four passes on 1/4 mile stretch with modest uphill incline. Started at 6* BTDC and advanced each run. Ran each time at full throttle, shifting at 4k. Recorded speed of each pass at end point. Here are the results:

First pass, 6* BTDC, 51 mph in 4th gear
Second pass, 10* BTDC, 52 mph in 4th gear
Third pass, 14* BTDC, 50 mph in 4th gear
Fourth pass, 20* BTDC, 49 mph in 4th gear.

I tried to keep as many test variables as constant as possible and realize that there is plenty of room here for human error, but thought others might be interested. Hope someone finds it useful. I settled in at right around 10* when I got back home.

Some other observations are that the car pulls strong through third gear but power peters out in 4th and 5th. Transmission gearing? Don't know what next step would be for biggest bang for the buck power wise. Like the idea of a SuzukiRD header (I know their reputation is a little dubious) to 1 3/4" exhaust with cat removed. Can get that done at local shop for around $400. Or maybe a set of Aurora wires. Trying to keep an eye toward rising fuel prices. Any thoughts?
