About a year ago I installed a 96 1.3 metro engine in my samurai, efi and all. And it has been on the back burner ever since because of various life events. But I'm now trying to get it running correctly. The engine came from an auto car and after it goes through a drive cycle the computer puts it into limp mode for lack of a vss, even though I have one installed in the intrument cluster. I'm certain I need to find a manual ECM for this to work correctly. My question is, besides the vss pin location on the harness plug in, is there anything else I'll need to change for this to work without it going into limp mode?

Thanks in advance,
Andrew

the automatics have a secondary vss located on the transmission. the secondary vss is connected to the atcu to control the shift points. if you aren't using the atcu in your conversion, that might be what's causing your problems.

Yeah, I'm not using the atcu as the engine is mated to my samurai 5speed trans
