can ya'll do me a huge favor and post any links that you know of for the 3 cyl Turbo Sprint 1.0L. I just got my hands on this item and I am interested in finding a performance cam, pistons, rods, and any other performance parts that you may know of. So far I know of the Catco highflow catalyst. But that is all.

All help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

By the way, I am looking to build this vehicle for drag racing so nitrous may be used during operation of this vehicle.

Well Thank you Mustard, Unfortunately with an introduction like that Its all dowhill from here. J/K Definately join over to the turbo3haven. The only weak link in these engines or should i say the weakest is the pistons. The ring lands in the number 2 piston, are the one that go first almost every time. However with proper maintenance you should have no prob. Post over to the turbo 3 haven and ill giveyou some of the initial things you can do. Basically the first few mods can be free and make the biggest diff. I have a convertible that I swapped in the t3 motor this summer past, very fun car mustards is also a vert. The only 2 i know of though mabey one more but details are scetchy at best. They can and do fly. My best quarter mile run was 15.7@85 and the car had no power over 4500 due to my incompetence at the time, using incorrect sparkplug gap, But should easily reach the 14 beggining of next Summer. Even a 15.7 is respectable by swift standards never mind a 1.ol 3 banga. Its always nice to have new people doin what your doin. Good luck with your prodject Like I said go and post over to the haven and ill give you a list of mods to start with.
George
91 T3VERT

I have had one for over a year now. Bought it to go along with my Gt and my 16 valve convertable. To tell you the truth, in my opinion the cars are crap compared to the Gt. They have a poorly designed motor with a bandaid fix as a performance solution.

Hey five zigen whats your gt do in the quartermile? I always wondered how they stack up against each other, that is turbo 3 to n/a 4 cyl. Im fairly sure Ill be able to get my car in the low 14s if not the high 13s this year. I ran 15.7 @ 85mph shifting at 4500 cause of problem, since rectified, Also do you think your vert is lighter than your coupe? Just wonderin. Mot that it matters just thougt it is funny Ijust happen to own 5zigen rims for my vert. Show only but they will look nice i got 17X7 Imperio M05 wearing 205/40 r17 Parada Spec2 They look cool im shure theyll steal enough power though.
George

Edited by: Metro Mayhem at: 1/15/03 5:22:56 pm

Hey George, I have never been to the track before (at least not to race). My cousin (he has a Firefly Turbo) and I were planing on going this spring. I just started using my Gt again as my winter car. Just finished installing the new clutch, underdrive pulley, convertable transmission (big difference over Gt box), Cultus header @ 2" exhaust. It's a quick little winter car, and from the seat of the pants feel it is a lot faster then my cousin's firefly (when it was running 15 psi). As for the vert I think it might be a little heavyer then the hatch. I am going to get both weighed when I get a chance this summer just to be certain. While I paitcently wait to find my 5Zigen N1R DIV3 16", I bought a set of rota spoon copies in 15". They only weigh 12 lbs so should be good for performance. I also fited Gab 4-ways on all corners with 600lb springs in the back, and 350lbs up front. Steel braided lines all around. 4 wheel disc brakes, 5Zigen Fireball exhaust, 2" pipe, hi flow cat, and a Geni header. I have a 50 shot of Nitrous for it as well, but I have not installed it yet. I need to get it painted first, it's a few different colours at the moment. I would also like to install a roll bar, have you given any thought to this? I was thinking one from a miata might fit with some cuting and welding.

I want to eventually build a cage for my car for chassi rigity but prob. just a roll bar as my car is a race and show as well
Im more worried about go than show though any stuff iadd will be able to be removed easily and ive ben contemplating analuminum dash mabeyeven carbon fiber heheye i wish anyways dude your car sounds sweet, Were you located? I think the vert will actually be lighter i might be wrong. That darn trunk lid weighs a ton i know that. I looked a while back but i didnt know they made the fireball exhaust for our cars. Ipayed about 200 plusin pipes to build mine it flows increadibly. Have you removed the cat from the down pipe. Makes a huge diff. My vert flys crazy its faster than alot of stuff. At only 10 psi i can run in the 15s full boost at 2800 good fun. I think im moving into the gti realm soon we shall see my 3 will not be left behind though. Its fast for a metro and it gts way more attention than a 4 cyl.for sure. Its all good fun hehe Got any pics of your car?.
George
