After 10 years, I finally got around to really fixing my doors.
They would not close right, so you always had to slam them
pretty hard.
It got so bad after a while, the driver side door latch had cracked
where it was installed in the door jam. That was a $150 repair,
but still did not solve the problem.

I finally landed some decent used hinges and set out to install them.
It was one of those things you don't look forward to because you know
you might nick the paint and snap off some bolts taking off the fenders
and bumpers.

Well I only snapped one bolt on the bumper and a tiny scratch taking
off the fender and got the hinges replaced. But I realized the real problem
besides the play in the hinges, was the hinge placement needed adjustment.
As I manuevered the door to adjust the hinge placement and retighten the bolt,
I realized some of the bolts had stripped out the threads.
I had to call it quits that day and live with it a while till I got a thread repair kit
and finally got back to it today.

Drilled out the threads and installed new ones. Final adjustment on the
door catch and voila! No more slamming the doors.
