I don't have a turbo but if your car is mechanically sound, you trust the workmanship and the engine fully broken in, it should not be a problem. With only 1000 miles on the engine change the oil and double, double check everything before heading out. Long continuous sustained speed are better on a vehicle that the short hops around town.

When I graduated college I had a freshly rebuilt engine in my 69 Datsun 510. One of my buddies helped me stab it into the car the morning after graduation and get it fired up. that afternoon I had it loaded and was on the road. I went from his house to my apartment about 20 miles, seated the rings in city traffic. reset the valves and checked the timing. Checked things out along the way. 570 miles on its maiden voyage.

You'll be fine. Just keep an eye on it,
