Trying to find the following information:

1) What is the proper name for this "trim?"
2) Part numbers? (3 pcs: front and sides)
3) Are they all Gray as on the White car? (are they different on the Red car?)
4) Are they the same on the different models: Swift, Sprint, Firefly?

Thanks.
Tom

This thread seems quite similar to one started recently:
viewtopic.php?f=35&t=61474&p=448559#p448559

1. Extension
2. 96055955,6, & 7
3.) No (No)
4.) No

If you have more questions, post pictures of your vehicle in this thread.
MK1 owners are always interested in new MK1 vehicle pictures.
FYI: This site isn't dead; it simply is a bit more to the point than newer sites.
As always, you're welcome.

Thanks so much for the info and Yes, guilty as charged about the other post.

The reason I posted the 2nd one was that I was going to scour car-part.com to try and find a bumper and I wasn't sure which models to run down. My plan was to find a bumper with a missing extension and beg the guy to sell me the extension I need. I would even consider buying the bumper for the extensions and then sell the bumper. A wreck hit in the RF would be perfect, but these cars just don't stick around long in the bone yards.

The Honda Civic is tempting. It looks better to me, but having all OE, well, this Turbo deserves it. (I was tempted by the Dark Side, to sell of my Extensions, and use the $$$ for other things I need for this car. But this car is so complete, that wouldn't be right.)

A few questions about your answers:

3) Are they all Gray as on the White car? Ans = NO (are they different on the Red car? Ans = NO)

I'm confused, if they are not different on the Red car, they are the same as the White car - same strip? But they are not all Gray as on the white car. So this means they are the same part number, but different colors? Looks like my gray ones are the same color as the plastic. Did they paint the ones on the Red car?

4) Are they the same on the different models: Swift, Sprint, Firefly? Ans = NO

I wasn't clear with the use of "same" but what were the differences? part number? actual shape? color?

Thanks so much for the info!
Tom

PS. I would have replied earlier but I thought there was email notification setup in my profile (hopefully that is an option since I usually forget to check email notifications when I post.)

They are all the same on all models 87-88 vintage . If they appear different shade of gray its because of different rate of fade depending on location and sun exposure. When new they were black. You are wasting your time with used bumper search . More then likely it will not come with them because they are super flimsy and gone before they even get to junkyards.

I was thinking the sides are so small, they might be 3D printable.

Interesting they started out black. Mine are gray including the clip featuress that are on the inside of the bumper completely shielded from the sun.

I realize it will probably take 1-2 years to find this part...

Posted in thread above too.

Hone depot paver edging has been around a lot. Cheap or free depending how ya go about it.

Enough in the package to do 2 cars easy. Or have a spare. Or take what ya need and return the rest(lil sleezy)

Self tappers or drill/nut/bolt. Is about 1.5" thick. Flexible a bit. Lasts forever.

Wow, the HD edger stuff is the Bee's Knees! WAY EASIER than trying to find old Honda parts - and even if you did, they are probably all beat up anyhow. Wonder if Pegasus Racing has anything like that?

Especially when this is basically a rub strip that is a consumable.

I'm tempted to remove my 2 existing Extensions and put them on the shelf and use the HD stuff. (I'd still try to get the missing piece though. But that would be like collecting a particular baseball card.)

NOTE: I once saw an air damn on a track car that was finished of with brush bristles. It literally scraped the pavement. They were stiff bristles like in a push broom for roads and driveways.
