This previous weekend I put in a rebuild engine into my mk2 T3. I also changed the engine wiring harness. Now my fan will not kick in. I tested it with a 12v source and it works fine, it would kick in like normal before I did this swap. Coolant temp gauge works like normal. Everything else is good, only the fan will not turn on

The gauge is not connected to the operation of the fan. There's a thermal switch that turns it on independently. Either it's faulty, not connected or the wiring has a break. I believe the switch is on the thermostat housing, check the connectors and go from there.
