Hey all, looks like my turbo kicked the bucket after a track day this weekend. I've been searching around for a replacement RHB32 turbo to no avail. I've read many threads talking about the RHB31 as a possible replacement, but no concrete answer seems to have been reached. I have a MK2 T3, and am wondering if there are any other possible replacements that will not cost me an arm and a leg.

I bought a garrett gt1544 for 650 off himni racing and bought flanges on ebay for about 40 bucks and ran the stock exhaust manifold. Theres also bootleg versions of that turbo on ebay that supposedly do pretty well for like 300 bucks

i run the knockoff gt1544 with an adapter i made from 1/2" plate steel to mount to the factory manifold. was a really easy install and has worked great. you can get a down pipe flange from a 91-2000 (i think that is the date range) 1.9L dsl vw and i just got a 2" u pipe and made my own down pipe. took me just over a day for everything. there is a bit more leg but a lot more top end
