Post subject:  Potentially new member to the Swift game

Hi guys, let me begin with saying I've never bee a Swift guy up until about an hour ago, I just saw an '88 Chevy Sprint Turbo on craigslist and if I can snag it for a decent price, I might just pick it up.
I never knew these cars existed till just now, one simply cannot deny the awesome combo of a lightweight vehicle, nice little turbo engine, and fantastic MPG.

I have a few questions however before I buy this car.

The first being, how much boost do these cars make from factory? How much can they be pushed to without changing the internals, then what will I have to change to start adding more boost? How much boost can the stock turbo handle? Are these vehicles cheap to modify and maintain? How reliable are they? And is there anywhere that can give me a detailed run down on the specifications of this vehicle?

Sorry for the barrage of questions, but your help will be greatly appreciated.

All the info is here, but it's fairly condensed and easy to find here http://forums.delphiforums.com/n/main.a ... 2018180441

The site's dead, but all the info is there.

Stock boost is about 7.5 psi, stock, the motor is good for 25+, and very stout.
Best combo for power and reliability is to run a mild performance cam, and 10-15 psi

Thank you! And 25+ PSI on stock internals? AMAZING, to say the least!

As long as it's getting the fuel, and GOOD fuel at that.. there usually aren't too many issues with stock internals.
