If its overheating to the point of the engine stalling I would worry about something seriously wrong with the cooling system. Could be: leaky or clogged radiator, damaged hoses, dead thermostat, cracked head/block, blown headgasket, clogged heater core, etc. Did you notice any visible evidence of coolant escaping? (puffs of steam from under the hood, white smoke from tail pipe, coolant dripping from engine parts, puddles on ground)

is it going to normal operating temperature or does the temperature meter in ur instrument panel in the red? if it just goes to normal operating temp and then dies then it could be ur ecu, i had the same problem when my car would warm up a bit it would just shut down

i think that's what it is, too. the ecu will run at it's preset until the engine comes up to temperature, then when the controls come up the car dies. time it when it happens and if the time is consistant that might be the trouble.

i've also seen that kind of thing happen with an internally collapsed muffler or a plugged up catalytic converter. the car will start and idle fine, but as soon as you start driving it's like you switched the ignition off.

I don't think it's the muffler...it has a Flowmaster stage 2,almost
straight through you might say..as for the cat, it dosen't have one
so I think we all might be right..must be the ECU.Anyone have any
idea what one would cost..be a bitch trying to find one, parts are getting
pretty rare on those
