buy a vacuum gage. Keep the manifold pressure in high vacuum as much as possible. Avoid high revs. Thats about it.

--Roy

about the exhaust i do believe the the bigger the exhaust and therefore the less backpressure, the better the fuel economy !

Make sure you have good compression at every cyl. Worn rings, burned or carbon coated valves and bad spark plugs lead not only to power loss, it burn fuel too.

Jar

place a little block of wood under the accelerator so you can't floor it,

tune your car to run lean?

restrictive air intake,

also depends a lot on your driving,

eg, drive in the slow lane, when on the motorway/highway tailgate a big truck to cut down on wind resistance (usless fact: did you know that at 80km/h you use half the power the engine produces to cut the air/wind in front of you)

I'd imagine that the more air in the cyl the better the fuel burns...hence if you don't get up it everywhere you go it should be more efficient!...advance the timing till the engine begins to detonate then retard it 2 degrees....this is a fairly simple way of leaning out you mix....or bugger it..just screw with your mixture screw!!!! you know thats why its tamper-proof!!!!!

In a way just view all performance mods as "economy mods" as when you not using the power your not using the fuel....also its a good reason to tell you other half!!!!!

shit...i may be thinking of the carbs...never mind....the mixture would probably be controlled by the computer...in which case you have to justify you insanity....is the money you'd save on fuel worth the mods your ganna make.....keep it simple...its easier to explain to stupid people when you beat them in a race!!!!!

Any one heard of an ecotek valve??????? They are supposed to reduce fuel consumption and slight power and torque increases. Dunno about the power increases but from what i have heard it does wonders for fuel consumption.

Remove your seats.

the removal of the seats prevents any unneceessary transportation on the transporters behalf of any or all personnel which results in unwanted fuel consumtion and noticeable loss in fuel economy thus altering the exelent percentage of distance to fuel ratio to a now decreased distance to an even more percentage of consumed fuel causing the commuter to "come up out the pocket" when he/she dont got no dough
