Well on my trip from Colorado to Arkansas, I finally made it into the 50 MPG club, with an average of 53 MPG on my little 92 Geo Metro. It's a 3 cyl, 5 speed, speedster. It took me a lot more time, but I sure spent much less on gas this time for my drive home. My little car did what I have wanted it to do for me, and that was get great gas mileage.

Jon

Congrats.

If I have the car long enough I would like to see if I can get my 98 4cylinder up there as well. Right now at 39.6mpg, on winter gas with 185 r 14 winter tires. Only 10.5 mpg to go.

I'm not sure if people are getting that kind of mileage out of the 4cyl cars or not, but good luck on your quest.

Yes, that is for Miles Per Gallon. My 1998 Metro 1.0 5 speed is averaging 47 miles per gallon right now.

My swift 1.3 gti 5 speed is doing.....2 gallons for each 63 miles!!! Or something like that!

:huh: :huh: :snore::snore:
1 fuel tank takes around 35 liters (9.24 gallons)
I'm doing with 1 deposit +/- 450 km's (279.624 Miles)

Yeah I haven't noticed anyone here say that they have hit 50mpg in a G13. Thanks for the luck though...

Last tank was 41.3 so I am working toward the goal. That was still on the 185/60/r14 Nexen winter tires too.

I have swapped to 155/80r13's over the weekend, so the 'quest' has begun. I am guessing about 45mpg on this first tank with the new tires.

FYI: P&G EOC/FAS with the new tires is MUCH easier/nicer thanks to the 640 tread wear rating of the Kumho Solus KR21's.

Quick little update.

98 1.3l 5sp. My first full tank with the new 13" LRR Kumho KR21's... 454.1miles, 9.719gals = 46.723mpg. Pretty good, but still not quite to the 50mpg goal I have set for myself.

I still have the little 12 inch tires on my metro. I have a suzuki swift that I can take the 13 inch wheels off of, but my 12 inch wheels won't fit back on that car so I can get rid of it. So I will have to wait till I sell the scrap the car to a junk yard, and tell them I want the wheels and they can't have them. Have you heard about the mod to remove your air intake duct. To my understanding you gain 2-3hp, i'm not so sure what it does to your mpg. But I can make it up the mountain in 4th now instead of 3rd.

i have put 2 tanks of gas in my 91 metro (155/80-12" tires) first tank was 49.3 mpg and last tank was 50.6 mpg. corrected for speedo error
OBEY THE GREEN LIGHT shifting around 2000rpm
going 65 on freeway and coasting when possible.
42psi in tires -- less traction.
spare + 300 pounds in car + roof rack - rear seat
SWEET! :D
and my blood pressure has come down at the gas pump! i have cut my cost to 28%

mmm can we make this a STICKY WITHOUT LOCK ?????? please!
