whats the capacity of my fuel tank it seems like 2 1/2-3 gallons is a half tank for me

and what are some good ways to up my mpg?

will these help my mpg?
advance the timing 5*-10*
remove my 230lb+ set of tools
mod headlight wiring for headlights to stay off during daytime driving
change fuel filter
run msd blaster 2 coil
remove air filter housing to fender tube and reroute to somewhere cooler or just leave off

is it bad for me to have gone ~160 miles on little over half a tank? like 1/8 over half

Please update your profile with location and stuff so we can help better.

I have a 1998 Metro and the fuel tank is like 10.6 gallons. My car is getting 54 MPG by first off, making sure the car is running right and tuned up. Then...............

Removed weight including spare, jack, junk
Disabled DRL's
Removed passenger mirror
Relocated radio antenna
Timing advance 6-8 degrees
Inflated tires to sidewall max (44 PSI in my case)
Changed driving habits.

You can see all the crap I did to my Metro by clicking the link below my signature image.

does the antenna create that much drag?

i really don't look forward to making a patch panel and welding it in to where antenna went

as for the mirror how do i fill in where it went?

Something about this demonchild post seems vaguely unreal... finding the gas tank capacity of 95 geo metro is a two-click google search = 10.6 gallons.

Where could the 2.5-3 gallons possibly come from?

im not sure why 2-3 gallons is a half tank
but i know today i was on 1/2 tank according to the gauge and i put $12 in at $4.12 a gallon and my gauge read full

odd it seems my gauge is reading funny as whats probably half a tank of gas is reading as full on the gauge and a quarter tank is reading half tank on gauge

i haven't had a chance to put in a full 10 gallons at once

this only did this after i changed the gauge cluster for another year geo metro 4cyl 4door

as i now remember putting $20 @ $3.80 a gal in the tank and the original fuel gauge reading near half tank

what could cause this???!???

could be the two cars had different fuel level sender design (in the tank) and the clusters had different resistors to match. My metro reads 1/4 tank low with a GTi cluster. Do you have the original cluster? It has the resistors you need.
