Here is a website with some intersting ideas for better gas mileage:

http://rochappliance.googlepages.com/home

It's well worth checking out and it's free.

What I read was just stuff everyone should already know for years now, like keeping your foot of the gas when approaching a red light etc. And the ECU trick just f*cks up your engine, it says that your engine is hot while its still cold or that your engine is cooled while its infact hot.

If some of the 'old time' Teamswift posters had an option to receive donations, they might be driving new Mercedes instead of Swifts...

Once you get the cars dialed-in (compression, leaks, bearings, alignment, brakes) swap in new rubber and glass, you've got something which should last for years!
