A couple of weeks ago I installed a 3.79 transmission in my car in hopes to get better mpg. I used syncromesh oil as well. It did a nice job of reducing my rpms in 5 gear. I have checked the speedo and milage against a gps unit and they matched up exactly. I have put about 1000 mils on this trans but I do not see any increase in mpg. Anyone have any thoughts?

Thats surprising. I would have expected a 5-10% gain. That would be a significant gain but you would still need to calcutale you mileage regularly or it could go undetected due to weather changes. Keep tracking and I bet you wil seen an improvement.
