Swift 1.0 L, 2000, 120 000 km
City traffic 6 l/km
Highway 4.6-4.8 l/km, on the car filled with low-quality Russian petrol mixed with all sorts of crap
G10a engine is the best one there is.

Hmm... interestingly my DD has been down for a week and I had been DD the Swift. 2 tanks I got 35.5 and 36.1mpg back to back. Not bad for the way I drive.

Turbo'd 94 GT flogged daily, averages 34-36 mpg with mobil 1 synthetic in the engine and GM syncromesh in the trans. On long trips has done over 40 mpg.

I track my mileage every tank, and since the switch to synthetic it jumped a consistent 2-3 mpg. That and I don't change it as often (7-10k miles) I'm never going back to standard oil......

97 Geo Metro Lsi, 1.3L, Automatic, A/C, 160,000+ on odometer, 155/80-13 tires at 40PSI, Moble-1 10/30 full synthetic, Quaker State synthetic auto trans oil.
Texas Hot Summer weather 100+degrees, A/C on, 65mph, tire pressure 40psi, all stock.
48mpg highway, 32mpg city.

And Obama wants me to trade it in for a gas guzzler? I think NOT!

1987 Chevrolet Sprint turbo
189,xxx miles
Car is stock with pre-cat removed and tires/wheels upgraded to 185/60R14. Per http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html, this should be a 7.8% difference in speedometer/odometer readings, making my recorded MPG 7.8% lower than reality. However, my wife paced me with her car and said my speedo is dead on so I'm not sure what's what.

39.2 MPG from Seattle to Vernonia - mostly highway with a few hills at 60--65 MPH.
Last 4 tanks commuting 60-65MPH (~3 miles city, the remaining 32 miles each way are split evenly between 4 lane highway and 2 lane mountain highway:
38.7MPG
35.4MPG
34.7MPG
36.5MPG

1991 Geo metro 1.0 Auto, was getting consistent 42 MPG mostly rural roads (45-65mph)
-Upgraded to 13" tires and run them at higher pressure
-Drilled cam gear +10
-Advanced timing
-low restriction exhaust and air cleaner

Just did a bunch of aeromods to it (some of which might actually be hurting it).
Haven't driven it enough to check the mileage yet but I have an MPGuino on the way.

1988 Chevy Sprint Metro. (Sprint ER by any other name) Original cam and transmission. (3.79:1 final drive)

Driven carefully at 65mph, without too many hills, and with no substantial wind: 52 mpg (The OKC - Dallas run on I-35 is my usual test.)

Same conditions at 55 mph: 60.4 (But I've only tried that once.)

In general, I find that each extra mph costs me about 0.7 - 0.8 mpg, in that speed range. At 75, a don't expect more than about 44 or 45 mpg. But I'm less certain about that because I just don't drive it that fast very often. I don't really like pushing it past 3000 rpm, and that falls at 68mph for this car. Of course, my 92 Geo Metro automatic hits 3000 at 45mph. But I don't really like that car, so I don't care. I've run that one at 75 mph with a shop tach connected, wires run around the driver's door frame. 5000 rpm, if you can believe it. Those 3 spd, non-overdrive, automatics without even a locking torque converter were like something straight out of the '70s!

Edit: I should mention that the tires are P155/80-R12 and I generally keep them at at 35psi. (Sometimes 32psi) Everything is pretty much stock. Except that we went with the "regular" 3 ring pistons, rather than the 2-ring, during the last rebuild. And any possible difference has not been detectable.

I would suggest that the more pertinent details one can give in this thread, the more helpful the numbers will be to other members. :)

haha bad to quote myself but my figures were wrong and iw ant to clear it up. i now get 14.5-15km/l which i believe is 55km/usGal which is 32.3MPG. I forgot to reduce km to miles.

While fe isnt my ultimate goal, i like to keep track of my FE as it usually is a good representation of how my engine is going and how dire a service is. Always use Mobil1 suspersyn products.
