I'm wondering if anyone has installed a MPGuino in their car, particularly in a MK1. I am planning to get one and install it in my 1987 Sprint turbo. I plan on documenting the process.

I installed one in my 1993 Geo Metro. It was a very very easy install, only 4 wires. If you can't find starting values to use for that vehicle just use the ones for the Geo Metro and then calibrate it over a lot of miles and it'll be accurate.

Thanks. That's what I figured I would have to do. I will try to get pictures when I do it so I can write it up for everyone else. I figure it will make the single biggest improvement in my gas mileage.

I put one in about 3 weeks ago and so far I've managed 65 miles once, usually I get 5-15 miles between freeze ups or it resetting itself...still trying to figure out what's wrong.

You can see my installation here:

Note that I made a correction at the bottom of the page (or the last of the important stuff on the page) concerning the wiring.

FWIW, I also have strange lockups, freezes, and strangeness with the MPGuino. I'm surprised I haven't wrecked the car because I stare at it the entire time I am driving.
