any 96+ 3 cylinder will be essentially identical.

Those will all bolt right up too, though the gears will be slightly taller. Ther verts got a highly sought after 4.39 final drive for a little snappier pickup while the other cars got a 4.10.

Enjoy the better gas mileage...

Actually, I guess the Swift with the 13s might have a 4 banger, in which case the trans will still bolt up, but the gears are taller still--I think I'd stick with the 4.10.

a 4.10 in a vert doesn't hurt them with a 3 banger.

you'll get better fuel economy.

i probably am wrong... but the early 90's swift ga/gl with a 4 banger and 5 speed just might be the 3.52 rear gear.... the mpg geeks want that one......

and those hypermiler geeks are frustrated when they find out that not only does the long legged transmission turn their car into an anemic piece of shit, it also screws their fuel economy. :blackeye:

lugging a g10 engine turns it into a pile of scrap quicker than anything except running one low on oil or overheating it.

lugging any engine will give bad fuel economy. sometimes more get up and go is best. if the one is a 1.3L you might need to grab the part of the shifter that goes from the shifter base to the trans as the 4 banger had a bit longer of one. if the parts car did have 12" tires and your vert has 13" just swap the speedo gear housing over. they all interchange and that will give the 12" trans the correct gear. as long as you have the parts cars you have everything you need to swap any trans.
