Hi. I have a 1992 swift. The car is to rusted to use.
I have checked the web for a new gti. There are only 10 registerd swift gti in norway. And no for sale. Im thinking about using the gti for parts and rebuild a 1998 model. Somebody done this before?
I want to take bonnet, fenders lamps and bumpers from the 1992 mod over to the 1998 mod. Is this possible?

we'll have to wait for a response from one of our other european members.

production of the swift in the north american domestic market ceased in 1994 while it continued in different styling variants in the european markets for nearly another 10 years.

you can swap 1989-1994 gti (mk2&3) to any 3 door swift that was on EU market up to 2002 or something..
the only difference in chassis is, some don't have rear anti roll bar..
but if you're going to swap you need to change almost everything.. full front harness, full suspension, front and rear bumbers with lights, fenders,.. (you can keep mk4 facelift but mk2 and 3 look much better) and so on.. there are few swaped swifts in slovenia..

I reshelled my 1990 Swift GTi rally car into a 2002 1ltr 3 door body shell, all the body panels swap over from the early shell.

The only difference is no rear anti roll bar mounts, you need to re-drill the mounting holes for the gearbox on the chassis leg (captive nuts are already fitted but covered over), and the pedal box sits a little further towards the middle of the car (RHD).
Other than that pretty much everything just swaps over.

i think that pedals and gearbox mounts are different only on 3cyl cars since engine is smaller.. 1.3l 4cyl cars should have those things same as gti.. but still no rear anti roll bar..
