i recently bought the megasquirt 2 v3.0 un assembled kit to use in MKII G13b stock. but unfortunately without stim. neways i assembled it and flashed 2.9 rom and tried to fire it up after trying modifications given in ms extra swift's manual. but it dint fired up. TPS, IAT and other sensors are showing proper readings. but no spark and pulse in injectors. need brief help on how to take ignition output from it and proper settings to choose in megatune. will upload the pics of the assembledd unit in half an hour.

you should really have a megastim so you can iron all this out on the bench. part of the assembly is step by step testing of sections of the controls. once you have the communications part tested and working you can load the firmware and set up the idle tune.

after you get the controller bench tested you need to adjust the 2 ten turn potentiometers so that you get a suitable timing signal. i use tuner studio to see the timing count and then log data and play it back frame by frame to check my ignition and timing pulses.

a very good thread to read is from one of our old members, caaarlo. he was really good about describing the set up he did for his twincam.

Thanks guys for the promt reply. ive benchtest the assembly by giving the power and ground to the ecu. and every thing shows normal as shown in assembly manual. i think i m not selecting the proper jumper for swift's stock setup. that's y its giving me power short when connecting the ignition coil. its not kind of a short, coil is giving spark like wen u connect the ignition coil direct to the battery +ve and -ve terminal. pin 36 of db37 connector giving direct ground to the coil even without cranking. and the power wire on the coil get warm. i think ive selected the wrong jumpers for the ignition and tach output.

caaarlo's code is posted on the megasquirt forum.

it sounds to me like you have a software switch set wrong causing the issue. the switch for the coil trigger can be set to normal or inverted. in the set up menu try the opposite of what you have now. in that menu you will also see a figure for charge time for the coil that should be set to prevent the coil from overheating.
