Hi,
I need replace front chassis harness in my mk3 Gti.
Anyone know mk3 1.3 8v front harness will fit to Gti P&P? Are there big differences?

Nobody answer me so I bought mk3 harness from 1.3 8v (couldn't find Gti harness) and did some research... ;)
Harness looks almost the same. There are differences in oil press sensor wire and ignition coil / module plugs.
I will try swap some wires and plugs tomorrow to make one in good condition ;)

erde, i didn't see your post.

the gt harness is different from the 8 valve harness. the gt has a different connector for the distributor and the small injector harness. the gt also uses a maf sensor while the north american market 8 valve engines use a map sensor.

i believe that the 8 valve engine harness has the oil pressure sensor wire in it's loom while the gt runs the oil pressure sensor through the front chassis harness.

there will be quite a bit of work trying to use the 8 valve engine harness on the gt.

t3 ragtop, I know engine harness is a different story ;) I've already replaced it.
Writing "front chassis harness" I mean harness to fuse box, front lights etc. :)

the differences in the front chassis are the oil pressure light switch and fog lights on the gt and are missing on the other model swifts.

Harness swaped successful 8)
I had to use plugs (ignition coil, ignition module) from Gti harness and solder 3 wires. There are difference in 2 wires in engine hanrness plug also. Oil press wire need re-pin only. Everything else is the same. But I don't recommend to do this swap - you can lose a few hours and all your patience.
