Im re shelling my gti into an 03 1 liter shell, i know about the chassis leg needing board for the mount but im wondering is there any issues with fitting in the mk2 dashboard?

If you have the cultus frame you can just fabricate the brakets, if you have the newer design that looks like an egg then no it would be a huge hazzle.

I have the full gti mk2 phase 1, the new shell is phase 2! I just havnt stripped the gti down inside yet to see for myself

I have seen a reshell of a gti to the newer body. The guy is from Central America but i can not find the page :-| but i can tell you every thing was included even the side skirts were fitted.

Yea im not worried about the outside of the car atall, just wondering if my square type dash will fit straight into the newer shell

all of the mounting points up around the windshield would need to be changed to accept the older mk2 dash. there are several other mounting points that need to be changed.

you can change the dash over to the older style but it's an inordinate amount of work and requires quite a bit of welding to be done inside the cabin.
