Stage 4 of last weekends Dukeries Rally at Donington Park Circuit.
1989 Swift Gti Rally Car.

Really please with how the car was running and we were sitting 2nd in class before we had a brake master cylinder failure on stage 5 and had to retire.
Engine and box worked really well and we set some very respectable stage times

nice power..
how many events did you finish with this box already?
we have swift for rally too, but we constantly have gearbox problems.. like broken teeth and so on..
but unfortunately we need fia homologated box.. and i think that sqs don't have right ratios.. (i don't care about teeth number as long as ratios are right ones or pretty close to right ones..) and their shortest fd is still a little long (looking for max 150km/h @ 8000 rpm on 175/60/14 or similar tyres)

Its like rallying with training wheels on =)

Here in NZ we don't have any rallies like that, our clubman rallies are mostly on forestry roads, the sort of roads where if you make a mistake you wrap your car around a tree or end up halfway down a bank...

Lukak AFAIK the two homologated ratio sets for the swift were

FIA Ultraclose #1
3.08 43/14
2.29 38/17
1.76 37/21
1.39 39/28
1.16 36/31

#2
3.08 43/14
2.06 37/18
1.55 34/22
1.24 31/25
1.03 27/28

Pretty sure Bacci do the #1 set but they are way overpriced and to make it worse I just sold my SRD made #1 set, I find it weird you need to run homologated ratios that are 25 years old

I have done 4 events with no issues at all.
I change the gearbox oil after every event.
The box is superb and transforms the performance of the car.
I run 14" wheels and top speed as around 115mph which it does reach with the 4.214 ratio.

@Dattman yes bacci make one of those but it's super crap :D not worth the money.. and for you it might look supershort, but for our roads it's perfect :D
how is SRD quality? and as you said for NZ rallyes, same is here in slovenia.. all roads are in forest :D
and yeah, everything need to be FIA homologated, no matter what car..

here is onboard video of us driving fiat panda kit car (only 115hp/147nm, kinda too short gearbox - 132km/h on rev limit in 6th gear :D)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XvpwUYs3Mw

we rented car for this event because we lost brakes completly at wrong moment on our MG ZR 105 (146hp/164nm) 1 month earlier.. and here is result:

and onboard, watch from 14:50 on

Wow!! Thanks for those. We don't have those kind of races here.

It's my kind of racing but here it's all 1/4 mile and circle track shit unless you ice race (even those are rare and are usually circle track).

I wish we had that here.

Those videos remind me of being 14 and sitting in the passenger seat of my brothers R8 Gordini as a hidden checkpoint station in a rally back in the early '70's.

It sucks for me that the Canadian rally series is mainly held in Ontario and Quebec.
