By looking at my exhaust manifold I can just tell it's going to be a pain-in-the-ass to take off (aka put back on). I already see two missing exhaust manifold studs. Can I find a hardware kit anywhere or am I going to have to piece it together?

I'm also going to need the right size tap. What's the correct size and pitch? Hopefully I don't have to helicoil...

Thanks in advance!

This is for a 86-95 Samurai...entirely different engines but I'd be curious if they used similar fasteners on the manifolds etc...

ACE Hardware should have metric bolts, maybe not studs, but bolts would work just as well. Take a nut that fits the stud or find a bolt you have that fits the threads where the studs go and take them with you. They usually have test fittings that tells you what size and thread you need. Fastenal sells mainly bolts and related stuff, if ones close to you try there.

I would not replace studs with bolts! Fastnel last time I checked doesn't have a huge selection of metric studs. I would go online to order the rights studs.

Hey Im in Maryland and am doing exactly what you are/ did. I want to convert all my manifold bots to studs. I have been doing research and cant seem to find a hardware kit of any kind. I soaked all my nuts and studs in PB blaster for two weeks ( not starting or driving the car) before trying to touch them and they all came out with ease . t3ragtop put all these fancy bolts everywhere in the engine bay and didn't want to attach my new manifold with the crusty 24 year old hardware. Ill post my findings when I know .

I got the studs from Napa and other hardware from Fastenal. Everything came apart with no need for drilling!!!!
