Engine idles at 1,600 rpm and the temp guage goes up when idling too long and goes down when driving I have two engine codes, 14 and 24 any help would be appreciated

It's out of a Metro FSM, but I think it's basically the same.

14 is coolant temperature sensor, crazy high or crazy low, don't know which one. Could be the sensor itself, but more likely bad ground or bad wiring connection.

24 is speed sensor, that's located inside the speedometer head. If your speedometer is working, then again it's a bad sensor (unlikely), bad ground, or bad connection between the speedo and ECM. It's possible that you have a ground disconnected that is causing both sensor codes.
