About .5mm, but you can cut it on an angle, taking more from the exhaust side

Can the compression be raised and it not adversely affect the cam timing?

I'm asking as I would like to raise the compression on a racing engine, but the regs don't allow adjustable cam pulleys.

Yes. You can't take that much from the head, but even a little will help compression, and this motor wants compression.

How much is the absolute maximum, without affecting the cam timing or piston to valve contact? I'm using oem ukdm gti cams and pistons.

I'm new to the g13.

I can take material from the block instead of the head if it yields more compression. As I said, I'm new to the g13 so I haven't had one apart to look at the shape of the combustion chamber.
