I have nice rust free Arizona sun baked project Swift GTi. It has been sitting parked for past six years in my friends backyard waiting to get at the head of the line, but it doesn't look like it will happen.
It had a rough life. As you can see in the pics , every panel has some kind of damage , some more then others . Hood has been flipped over on the roof somewhere along the line, passenger quarter panel has been hit and repair attempted by previous owner(not very skilled or bright fellow) , front bumper has been scratched on both corners but other then that in OK shape , one dent on the passenger door, whole top of the car has been clawed pretty good by my friends dogs as they were using the car for barking and observation platform.
Interior has been baked pretty good by AZ sun , dash is a toast and unfortunately dash that my friend bought to replace it with doesn't look much better after 4 years laying on the front seats. The seats are not too bad but driver seat will need re stitched , the fabric is not torn but stitching fell apart. Carpet has a hole where in it , there is replacement carpet for that .
I succeeded in starting the car, which surprised the hell out of me. Gas is old but the pump came on and the engine ran rough but it was running. I was told by my friend that it was overheating when he got it. Engine looks pretty cruddy and will have to be rebuilt.
As I said , a project if someone wants to resurrect it. Everything will need attention but its all there and complete. Feel free to contact me if you would like more info. I don't have time or desire to part it out and ship stuff so bring your trailer
Maybe you have one with no sun damage but rusted out frame horns and rockers ?
Price ? How about $750

Seems like a solid car... Mostly cosmetic damage correct? Problem is to fix it, you'd have to take it to a nice body shop where they wouldn't cheese the shit out of it, like the rear fender was by the previous owner.... Then paint of course.. Engine tune up, new wheels/tires, etc.
Good project for sure. I'd buy it if I was closer.. Shipping perhaps?

Liam.

Well if you want rust free car it will have to involve shipping since I don't think there is any left in Great White North. This car is probably best suited for someone that already has one that's rusted out and in pretty decent shape other then that and can do the work himself, or someone that needs it for parts. I think this would probably be your first car and first project , right? I would not recommend anyone buy this that plans on having some shop do all the work. First there is no shop that knows much about them , second there is no shop that restores them because they are still not a collector cars and are worth fairly little compared to labor cost it would take to do the job right. If I were to resurrect this car I would probably go to junkyard and get a good quarter panel with half of the fender well so I could replace all the silliness under the cheese crap. Tune up would not do it for this engine , it has to be rebuilt , as I said in original post , it was severely neglected and abused by PO
It would probably be best for you to buy rust free southern car that's in good mechanical condition so you can just fly south and drive it up to Canada. Probably cheaper too.

there are only 2 suzuki swift gt cars in all of central ohio, an archeologist's black 94 and my white 92. that covers a couple million people.

if it was easy to find in my area i wouldn't be begging on teamswift. =)

Yeah , that was looooong time ago, there are still some of the orange groves left but not many. You would not recognize the place now. I moved here in 1987 and sometimes I hardly recognize places I don't often visit. Just Imagine , in 1981 whole of the Valley of the Sun (Phoenix and all of the surrounding cities) had 1 million people , we are above 4 million now. Incredible ..............

BTW I rounded up set of well used fog lights and installed them , think it looks better without those gaping holes :)
