Forgot to mention in the suspension area of my write up that the two front control arms were replaced as part of the suspension upgrades.

May be a little off subject, but do you have any idea how difficult it may be to install A/C from a donor parts car? A/C is going to be a must for me but everything I find with A/C needs major work to be road worthy and I believe I may be upto the task of transplanting A/C from one car to the another. :buzz: Thanks

Nice ride!!

Not entirely sure, would have to mount compressor with mounting bracket, then there's the condenser and all the hoses for cooling. Would be a big job, might not be too bad if you rob from one car and transfer over to another.

I would be more concerned about importing it into the US, than the A/C not being there

Unfortunately notzig is right to make it easier to import the car has to be more than 25 years old, otherwise it has to meet all current emission laws. Not saying its not do-able but one would have to do a lot a research.

its not that bad of a job - i did this for my 1989

i took it from a car that had a working system( but rusted) this allowed my to see how it mounts etc.

i did it over a weekend - charged the system etc. the issues is hose connectors and damaging them. some can be corroded.

I did some reading on the ezbordercrossing website and I have a prior DWI conviction which means I would need a temporary residence slip and then still have to hope the border patrol isn't having a bad day and sends me away anyway. Long story short, notzig is right in my case. Hate that garbage, just because my past is a little dirty. I live too far to just drive up there and give it a shot so unless I win the lottery that I don't play, I guess I won't be importing any cars.

Yes my new ride is 2014 performance blue Fiesta ST. It makes a good back drop or auto art having it in the background to hopefully further highlight the attract-fullness of my 89 SS GTi.

Your Suzuki looks clean. Reminds me of my first red one I had. If you weren't all the way on the other side and I had the extra cash laying around I'd be picking this up.

That's ok I will patiently wait for the right buyer to come along, in the meantime it gets the royal garage treatment.

I'm just outside Vancouver, BC. A bit concerned about rust issues, do you have any pics of the problem areas?

NICE GTI.
I hope I'm not off topic, but I wanted to thank you and JCR557. After admiring your car, I noticed your Ford Fiesta ST and JCR557's comment about his rally car. I started researching the ST and picked up a new one last weekend. So far, it's giving me that same silly grin I use to get driving my Swift GT. Good luck on your sale. :-D

Thanks, the right buyer is somewhere out there. If you want to make that grin even bigger may want to consider Mountune MP215 upgrade. Just had mine installed last week and the grin never been bigger

This is the problem "Both driver and passenger side rocker panel area has rust holes, about 4”x6” on either side. Needs some rust repair before it gets too bad."

Otherwise its a nice car, fix the rust up, if you lived in Winnipeg I would help you. Not too bad if if you get that under control.

Steve
