What is the difference between a Swift GT and a Swift GTi? I've got a 1990 Swift with a DOHC 16valve 1.3 litre and I don't know if its a GT or a GTi. I have a spare engine, transmission, headers, intake, throttle body, radiator, and rear disc brake knuckles and hubs for it and the car I got those out of had Cultus GTi printed on the back hatch.

If you have the 16 valve dohc it's pretty much the gti, after some dilema with vw for using the gti name they later on just called them gt, the ga and regular Swifts had the 8 valve 4 cilinder g13ba I think. Correct me if I am wrong.

So that's it, I've been wondering about that for years because I'm seeing GT and GTi all over the place on TeamSwift. Ya, that little i, standing for injection I guess, does sort of seem to be a VW thing. thanks.
