I have a 1992 metro xfi with suzukird header on a 3cyl.

Has anyone put the turbinetech underbody brace on a 1992 metro with suzukird header?

Were there any clearance issues?

Or if you just have the brace, how much clearance is left from the top of the brace to the bottom of the transmission? How far back does the brace extend?

Thanks,
Luke

From what I have heard and read about the brace is the only worrys ppl have had is that it rubs or extremly close to the exhaust pipe...so with clearance from ground up you should have NO problem!

Put one on my Vert about 6 months ago, stock exhaust, and it rubs/vibrates. Check the brace last week and no visible damage to the brace (just road grime). From what I understand most cars came with sway bars, not Verts. The cars with factory bars have a shorter or bend in the down pipe that allows the exhaust pipe to run between the bar and the pan. That's why you have to add a spacer to the Verts to get the front bar on and not hit the pipe. All that said I would expect the header to match the clearance of exhaust to match a car using swaybars. PM T3 - I know he had a brace on Ol Blue, just don't recall what header/exhaust he was using. And yes I like the brace and now I want a bigger rear sway bar!

I tried to fit my brace, but the front 'legs' were spread too far already, so it didn't fit. It was more than an inch away from the exhaust though. I have the straight pipe too and no sway bar. Didn't try it with the srd header which I also have, but it looked like that doesn't come near the brace either.

thanks peanutzz, that's what i was lookin for, keep me updated when you put the header on with the brace.
From what i have read, you need to put a come-a-long (ratchet strap) between the 'legs' and pull them together to fit the brace on.
