I've come across this alternate tubular header for the G10 from a company called Hurricane Headers
Image

I know it's been mentioned on the board before but I couldn't find any details about materials, quality, or performance.
Anybody have any info they could share?

Also, what the heck is the EGR doing coming off cylinder 1? The stock manifold in Australia has it as well... anyone know what the configuration of the EGR system is, and why it's routed differently than all the other G10's I've seen?

Hat tip to nelpd96 for posting about his project...

Weird... just checked and I don't believe I've seen seen that EGR on any Japanese assembled RHD G10 swift/cultus imported into NZ, Aussie and NZ cars are usually specced fairly closely.

Here was my one

Thanks for the info Rich... I was also wondering what the differences were with the system equipment and function... anybody have a parts diagram for the JDM G10?

Dattman - that is a damn clean G10!! Did you take that picture the day you bought that car brand new?

Also, anyone have info about these Hurricane headers? At first glance they look better made than SuzukiRD, although the primaries are much shorter.

Evan that engine had 44,000 kms on the clock when the photo was taken about 7 years ago, it was a domestic Japanese vehicle, 1998 model, imported into NZ with probably 35k on the odo, the lady owner drove the left wheel into a curb at 40kph, broke the suspension and bent the chassis, car was written off by the insurance company, you can't really tell but the radiator is pushed in, paid $400 for the damaged car, sold the engine for $300, paid 150 to get the shell straightened, perfect rust free shell to build my race car from.

I'm wondering if the EGR on cyl one is more of a early thing as mine was a 1998 and sold brand new onto Japanese roads.

that tube comming off cyl. 1 may be a heat risertube. it would have a tube going to the snorkle on the air filter housing to provide warm air during cold weather.
