the engines came from the factory with cast pistons and ran many reliable miles. unless you pony up big cash to commission a manufacturer to build custom forged pistons, your option is to use oem quality aftermarket cast replacements.

unless you are going to pull out all the stops to increase hp, cast pistons, properly installed and run with proper timing, will give you excellent service. :wink:

I finally had a chance to place my order it was allot cheaper then i thought it would be. Once I'm done i may do the same to my Vert .I'm hopping to get started next week but there is a 505 Peugeot in my way that needs a engine rebuild no surprise there show me a Peugeot that does not need something.

Yeah i have the machine shop lined up.The cost is not as bad as i was thinking Cleaning,Bore and Hone and Magnaflux and polish the crank will be around 180.00.Im packing up my head today to send to Mike.

had some problems. ringland broke off the piston crank seal blew out from all the blow by. clutch slipped even though it was about 60% or better

Ok Mr 1/2 empty.
I have always said if they can make it I can fix it.
If I run into snags I'm sure with the large TS community I can ask questions and someone will help or at a minimum point me in the right direction.
