ok so theres 2 things.

#1 No Start.....
I completed the GM alternator conversion, no problems bolting it in. I lost the directions so i had to wing it... Plug the adapter into the stock plug, the other end into the GM alternator. Hooked the heavy duty wire to the post on the Alt, and the other end to the positive on the battery. Ignition comes on i started it to make sure i installed it ok, cleaned up the garage for a bit went to leave, no start...

#2 SMOKE!!!!!
In installing the alternator i lifted the passenger side up kinda high. to make sure i had ample room to work. the wheels were up for a total of about 3 hours. When it did start as mentioned before it smoked like hell (oil smoke). I dont think its the head, cause it was recently replaced with a rebuilt one.... its been smoking here and there ever since, but not like this. Is it possible that theres not a hole in the head gasket where there should be? I believe its a felpro...

the oil return holes are the big openings forward of the cylinders on the head gasket. it's not likely that the head is able to keep more oil in it than it should.

don't pay any attention to the "urban legend" concerning oil return holes on a g10 head gasket.

it's more likely that you need to replace the pcv valve and clean out the valve cover's vent hose.

Without sounding like an asshole... maybe its the starter. Could be coincidence.
