I am in need of a new "right" engine mount in the front, but it seems the ones being sold online all say they are for manual transmission. I have an automatic.

As I understand things, which may be incorrect, what really counts is the bracket between the engine and the engine mount, not the engine mount itself. Is that correct or is there actually a different engine mount for the A/T?

Since Suzuki made a bracket adapter that is different for A/T vs M/T, it seems like they made it so the same engine mount itself can be used on both.

EDIT: Oh, and it's a 1993 Metro 1.0/3spd A/T by the way.

I know the bracket that mounts to the engine is different on the auto that also makes the mount a bit different. As the bolt locations change. If I'm not mistaken the 5 spd has a shorter motor bracket and the mount is a bit longer. As it mounts the motor and trans in a bit of a different location then the 5 spd.

Seeing how I have one of each I can take a better look in the daylight

I wonder if the same mount is used... but turned upside down for the opposite setup.

This is a pic of mine with AT. The mount's bend is facing toward the bumper:

This is a pic I found on the web which looks to have a manual transmission, it's mount is facing away from the bumper:

This is a pic showing AT and MT mounts with brackets, MT being on the bottom:

From working on my automatic (92) I know that the mounts are not interchangeable. the offset is wrong. but if you use the ENTIRE bracket (large aluminum piece) along with a standard motor mount it might work? not to sure on that. the mount on the transmission by the left hand axle is VERY hard to find....tried 3 different suppliers, all of them were wrong. I wound up filling that one with urethane to fix my problem. also the ''dog bone'' mount on the back of the trans is very prone to failure. that one I purchased new, filled the voids with urethane, and I have not had a problem since then.
sometimes you can find ''insert style'' bushings, but I have not dug deep enough into that area yet. (Chryslers had insert style mounts, remove bracket, press out old mount, press in new mount, and re-install in car. done.) 92 is different than some 90-91 cars.
damn change-ups

Sorry it took so long. With hurricane Ana hitting us on the west coast it's been a bit wet and windy. But as you will see in the picture they do go 2 different ways. As well if you look at the tab that come out of the block for the timing cover they mount in 2 completely different places. Ones about an inch longer

Here is the automatic. If you notice it goes past that tab

And here is my 5 spd. As you can see its before that tab.

Now as started earlier you might be able to get the part that mounts to the block from a stick car and make the std mount work. I have not been able to find my spair 5 spd mount and arm in my garage yet.

But the stick shift mount will not work with an auto arm in any way.
