Has anyone run into this?

The stock is 26.75" and the ST is 27.25 inches.

This puts the axle in bind with full suspension hang.

What is even worse is that the outboard CV housing exterior is different from the OE and the ST axle for the other side!!!

This is the wrong axle in my book.

ST says its the right part and they claim less than average returns.

I confess I bot from RockAuto and they are siding with ST saying there was nothing wrong with the axle - although they did cover the return shipping cost.

ST CV joint felt pretty smooth but I replaced with an Empire which has weird loose wiggle for a few degrees of articulation at any position. Past the wiggle you get the "tight" feel of the precision parts rolling, etc. but I must say they are not particularly smooth.

Has anyone else run into this? Or is it commonplace to install shafts that are of different length?

Thanks
Tom

I ran into this with an axle from oh'really's. Comes to find out axle was too long. Returned it and got one from parts geek. Which was far cheaper than the one from the other place. And worked.
