Got the car back on the road today. The car runs great. I had the bottom end rebuilt, with new everything, including oil pump. While they had it i had them bore the block .20 over, so i'm big-blockin it now. The oil light is still on, but i am reading 20-30psi at idle and 55-60 cruising. So i think the oil sensor is just in a bad location.

The car is not boosting yet. I have everything hooked up on the turbo piping, i just have the wastegate disconneted on the turbo, so it won't boost. I am running on just the downpipe, so it's very loud and it drones very bad. I am planning on getting 2.5inch piping some time this week.

I hope to get the fuel pump done sometime in the next few weeks, before i start boosting it.

Kyle

ok hi i'm new to the metro scene and was going to do a head and cam swap but then my friend sold me his wrx turbo and intercooler for 100 bucks so my plans changed and i've read a few threads now and would appreciate it if anyone could help me understand this completely

to retain the stock tbi set up all i REALLY NEED is

good new or rebuilt injector
good walbro 180 or 255 fuel pump
2:1 or 3:1 fuel pressure regulator
i'd probably get a cam and meth too

and the stock computer would compensate for about how much boost? i would be content about 5 or 6 psi
is this correct? and i have a few questions to if you guys wouldn't mind helping me out with

should i go one step colder plugs or is there not enough boost yet to really matter?
would a piggyback work with the tbi set up?
my car is an auto does this transmission have any vacuum lines to it for function?
is there a general estimate for how much retard per pound of boost?

thanks much i'm so excited to see how kyles car turns out!

If you plan to keep the TBI setup, you should be looking for a TB with an injector in it. the Nissan TB mod is used with multi point FI

Looks like you got the exhaust done! Does that mean you have boost now as well?

Gotta love that cam sound  It sounds just like my car. Do you have anything else on that exhaust besides the fart can?

It was not a "shitty" rebuild. The car has no o2 sensor, causing it to run rich at idle, running rich at idle = smoke. Not everyone has the same exhasut.

You and 1995Firefly4dr would get along great on this forum..

my bad, sorry for callin it a shitty rebuild, my friends geo tracker did that when he had the motor rebuilt, and then 3 months later, it blew! and well workin with honda d16(sohc 1.6l), b16(dohc 1.6l), and a b18c5 (a rare jdm dohc 1.8l from an integra type-R), for 5 years and they never did that. until i blew a gasket or something like that! i am still new to geo's eventho i had one for a year now. yes i down-graded from a civic. geo's seem more fun, and harder to customize!

I just love it when kids believe anything someone told them to make something look special. I like the massive use of the word RARE

dude, that engine came in Type-Rs in north america.

I know a few guys that think V-TEC is the main reason their Honduh CRX is fast. They seem to forget the fact that their V-TEC engine runs 1100 more rpm's than the 'normal' one, which contributes most to that power..

i know what i am talking about, dumbass. for your info, the JDM B18C5 from a right hand drive honda integra!!!!! the motor is extremely rare. it has been fully built from top to bottom and every nut, bolt, even the oil was all done by SPOON! yes the jdm company SPOON that only specailizes in hondas only! the sad and messed up part of it all was the spoon engine was fitted into a fully modifed mugen dc5 integra chassis, everything inside and out was mugen. but the motor was very rare yes i know i could have usdm and went cheap! but nothing is as much rewarding as have a true gem. and not to mention the B18C5 would rev up to 13,000 rpm. and i hit with every gear change, every day!

Dude- leave his build thread alone with your jabber.

You want to rant about how great you are- start another thread.

I've been consdiering doing work like this on my vert, I got a lot of work ahead of me and I figured while I'm doing everything else I could tear the engine apart and have it built. I had some questions myself, please be patient with me i'm an electronics guy I know very little when next to your guys very specific applications and tolerances.

as I said I have a convertible, so I already have the tranny I want for my app. I've been thinking of that intercooled turbo setup from TT, and when I searched it I've seen it as an oem mitsu colt turbo compressor circa 1988-ish? firstly, I guess at least one of us has been here before, how is it? I've also been thinking of paying to have the porting and cam done (that would be first). what goes along with that other than valves? are pistons something that would make a difference to change out? I see a lot of people on here referencing the pistons from vitaras or samurais. is that strictly for the bore? my thought is that it wouldn't make a difference unless I get some that weigh less than stock. then again if those existed I'm sure it'd be all over this forum. any suggestions though guys? lifters? valves? rods? just looking for a few ideas. I don't wanna not do something I should have done all at once.

if this is in the wrong topic I'm sorry, I just couldn't find much else on this with the search bar.

hey guys, found more info on the pistons. so my only question left is do the 3 cylinders and four cylinders have the same pistons? I mean with simple math I can tell you that 1/3= .3333 and 1.3/4= .325 so they are close, and obviously not every motor is dead on what displacement it's labelled for. somebody just say yes and i'm good :)

even if they're the same I think I answered my own question. I'm not dumping quite enough money into this to get enough power to worry about lowering my ratios. anyways if anybody can give me some advice on a similar project I'd appreciate it.

Has this project moved forward at this point?

I am extremely interested to see where it is headed, because I am about to mate a T25, G10, and E85 together.

I am curious on your clutch setup and for that matter the setups of similar builds.

Good luck on it!
