Hi,

I got spare engine which has bore out to take 75mm Vitara pistons with platinum o-rings fitted.
It is bare block and ready to fit everything.
I have ARP con-rod bolts with std conrods. I know I should go for high power ready forged conrods, but I'm not going over 200bhp with it so should be OK.

I'm getting Cultus cams for this engine with Madzuki modified cylinder head.

I heard from someone that I can fit Vitara oil pump to increase flow.
Did I hear it right or not true?

I did search but I didn't pick up what I wanted.
I would like to hear from guys(girls) with turbo charged engine to answer me following Qs.

Std oil pump
Will it OK?
I saw Calmini sell them so thinking of buying it off them.

I will be making it dry sump system like this link below.
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=45505

It will be for my next project but I got too many parts in bit and taking up space.
It will be RWD using Volvo 300 series gearbox which has gearbox at the back like some Porsche 944s.

Any input will be welcome!

Cheers
Atchi

The G16 pump can fit, you need to modify the block a little bit to make it line up. I believe the port sizes on the G16 pump are a bit larger than that of the cast openings on the G13 block.

What's the part number for those ARP rod bolts?

Use either the GTI pump, or the 1.6 pump. The 1.6 pump that i've used is a genuine Suzuki part ordered for a 1999 Suzuki Esteem. ...and as my good provincial neigbour has pointed out, the oil passage in the block of the 1.3 is a little smaller than the 1.6 pump. I'll go check to see if the older 1.3 block has enough material to do a nice port match as the newer block port matches very nicely.

Hi,

My e-mail notification isn't working!
Thanks for that Darcy. So is 1.6 G16 has bigger a capacity oil pump?
Which hole is little bit smaller? I thought smaller hole will create higher oil pressure. So by porting oil supply hole to the engine block will give good volume of flow and higher pressure.

stock oil pump will work a-ok. im making about 230hp at the engine with stock pump.

just use a good quality oil and the correct grade.

Hi Tim,

So I'm thinking of a dry sump system, oil supply to turbo charger from thread hole next to the oil filter.
I was thinking that I will need to add extra flow. So that I will get good flow to the engine even with some going to the turbo.
From what you are saying, I should be OK with same-ish Bhp.

Cheers

Anyone have figures for how many litres per minute and 1000rpm the 1.6 pump flows?
I found some info on the G13B pump in a Suzuki manual. It flows 6 litres per minute @ 1000rpm.

Also if anyone has a Suzuki part number for the Esteem pump it would be very helpful. The Suzuki dealer here can't find anything without a license plate number or a VIN. Hopeless!
