I noticed you had some issues with even flow into the runners, instead of making a linear plenum could you have just done something kinda like a turbo exhaust manifold for the intake and had 4 evenly spaced tubes directly arranged in front of the output of the SC?
something like this, with the SC bolted to the square flange (except larger of course):

(thanks turbinetech for the illustration)

Oh yeah, I forgot, you're using an intercooler in your setup, but the same theory can apply, just run the intercooler to 4:1 setup like this.

We couldnt cast the alloy into long runners like that very easily. Probably would have been a better solution though

Ah, true, I didn't consider your casting preference.

The main reason for the design we used was the distinct lack of room in the mini with a standard sized front..!

To give you an idea, there is about 2 - 3 mm space between the top of the supercharger and the underside of the hood and about 4mm between the intake plenum and the supercharger outlet...

To fit a tubular inlet in the space, we would have had to angle it downward down the back of the engine.. and that would probably be worse than what we have...

The cast part of the manifold also gives the correct angle of taper between the plenum and intake..
