Can anyone help me with a link of info on a stock g13ba, g13a or other 8v 1.3 with boost?
Im trying to see what performance can be attained from an 8v head worked or not, stock
internals or worked etc.
regards, Dave

If you want a rough calculation method here it is...

A stock 1.3L 8v is lets say 70hp....The motor is making 70hp n/a therefore its making 70hp at no more than 14.7psi atmospheric pressure(AP)....Any higher than this is forced induction......to find out ROUGHLY how much power the 1.3l makes at 1psi AP, divide 70hp by 14.7 AP and that give your hp per 1psi....Answer is 4.76hp per 1psi but lets round that off to 5hp to simplify things.

Now determine how much boost you want to run...for eg...if you want to run 10psi of boost, add 10psi boost to the 14.7psi AP and that'll give you 24.7psi total pressure....Now multiply 24.7psi total pressure to how much hp your engine makes at 1psi which in this instance is rounded off to 5hp......

So 24.7psi total pressure X 5hp per 1psi giving you a rough total of 123.5hp give or take all depending on your setup....

Guy ran a 1.3L 8v in his samurai and was claiming 272hp..no setup is the same

He later changed the head to a SOHC 16v unit

and then to a 3SGTE motor

Hope this helps

DeTune absolutely great info my friend thank you very much!
Looks like the 16v headed engine blew up before he had it dynoed hence the conversion to a toyota engine.
The 8v engine seemed to be good enough but chasing those extra 30hp sometimes isnt worth it?

I wonder if he ever detailed the things he did to the 8v and 16v suzi engines somewhere?

thank you again, D
