hi, i have been reading a lot but i cannot find a definitive answer, im rebuilding my engine, and cylinders are currently at 74.2 but i cannot find pistons here where i live to bore to 74.5 or 75 i can only find 76mm pistons (forged), i wanted to know, how safe is to bore to 76mm and how much do i have left.

also, i have been offered some taiwanese pistons with japanese rings, they are in 74.5 but i really dont know if i can trust them

the maximum over bore is given as 75mm and i have built one turbo engine using 75mm vitara pistons.

imho, a 76mm over bore leaves the steel bore liners too thin to be trusted.
