ok folks here it is my car has been sold on me ... ( read up on it in the tranny section under need desperate tranny help :( )

so here is the question what motor should i consider for the 1994 swift sedan i'm looking into ... the 1.3 gti and turbo or 1.6 and tweak ...

next question is do they have a turbo set up for the 1.6 L motor and will it handle the boost it would make or is there a lot of forged compnents to buy and so on ... well either way i believe the sedans came with 1.6 L factory

so keep 1.6 or swap out ???

I to am interested in this as I am going to turbo my G16B in my Sidekick. I plan on using a Mitsubishi TD04L-14B turbocharger and a custom equal length ceramic coated exhaust manifold from Turbine Tech and for internals I'll send out my crank and rods to Suzuki Racing Development to get toughened up and use 8.5:1 pistons. I'm hoping to use a Apexi SAFC to tune it. I'd like to make at least 250HP.

O it's happening don't worry. I picked up my Ceterforce Dual friction clutch last Monday and I'm going to buy the aluminum flywheel from Suzukird and install it by early February. I'm going to buy a used 14B tomorrow and should have it rebuilt and balanced my the end of February. Also I am looking at a buddy's 1st Gen DSM inter cooler sometime this week to see if it will fit. I bid on a used Apexi SAFC I on ebay earlier today. I also have 450cc injectors from a DSM and a high to low impedance converter. Also I have a 1st GEN DSM BOV. I have spare pistons and a crankshaft and rods ready to be sent out. This has been along time coming for me. I'm having a hard time with camshafts, I'm not sure what to get. I'm not a big fan of reground cams but it looks like I don't have much choice.

so any clue as to which would be better between the 1.3 DOHC or the 1.6 motor?

I like the 1.3. The 1.6 doesn't really seem to have anything wrong, tho there are rumors it's extra stroke makes it a bit less reliable.
Plus a turbo will make more power, and they're just more fun to drive, I think.

of course, I'm sticking w/ 1.3L N/A because it's easier.

is the the 1.6L 8v? You can swap the pistons from a 1.6L 16v, and swap a GTi head on it, then boost it. You'll have a torque monster. No need to rev the piss out of it(because the crank won't take it), but it'll be a very very torquey motor. Moreso than a turbo G13b.

The G13BB head on a G16 turboed doesnt get much better than that.
