Hey Guys,

Just need to know... when doing a Bottom half swap (GTi head) which is best to go with... the G15 or the G16?

i've heard that the 1.5 has the longer stroke but i believe that there's no replacement for displacement....

which would b recommended? i see on SSGTi.com that they use the 1.6 to make power n/a... no one mentioned the 1.5... sum of the guys here in jamaica use the 1.5 and they are fast ... they do times like 15.xxx on the 1/4 mile... i have yet to see one in the 14s tho...

what do u guys say?

Hey,

I have used the G15A and the G16B blocks with the G13B twin cam head.. The G15 has a 84.5 mm long stroke whereas the G16B has a 90mm stroke.. The difference in torque is very huge.. For an NA setup i would recomment the G16B.. Its real fun!!

Cheers

ok... but really which one of the blocks can endure more pressure... i kno the G16 block is weaker... which i'm wondering if that is the reason ppl here in ja chose the G15....

Hey,

I have used both the blocks for about 50hp nitrous application.. So i dont really know for sure.. The 1.5l block looks way stronger for boost than the 1.6l. Thats what even my other friends have told me..

Cheers
