ok,. so i decided i MAY go with a g16b 1.6 16v motor out of a sidekick/x90
g13 tranny will bolt right up as far as i know
wiring is no issue since i'm thinking of running megasquirt
so what do i need?

a set of 1.6 mounts from a sedan
a fan switch
and 1.6 sedan axels or will the gt ones work?
from what i saw on redline the gt ones will work just the midshaft can only bolt up to 2 bolts instead of 3.

thanks
amer
ps: i did search i've been here long enough to know that :-P

g13 trans wont work, still trying to find if the g16 trans came in any differnet final drives other the 3.80 or something. but then again for a bosted 1.6 that might be ok.

i thought all the "G" series trannies were interchangable

so a swift 1.6 sedan tranny would work?

im buying an engine/trans in a couple weeks. from my looking at them side by side an esteem engine/trans should drop right in (i havent actually tried it yet.)

the only issue i can see is a slight exhaust misalignment due to the approx 1" taller deck height of the G16.

ill be getting the entire engine and wire harness/ecu but my first attempt will be with the swift intake and ecu. if you want to use the esteem ecu youll need the harness too as the pinouts are different.

go check out my writeup for my 1.6 DOHC GTI conversion....the G13 tranny WONT bolt up to the G16...U'll need to weld some brackets for it to fit...Unless u want to use only 2 screws to secure the bellhousing to the engine :|

Can't you use an adapter plate? There are lots about designed to put a 1.6 G16 engine into a G13 Samurai, they're not particularly expensive.
