hi there.

I am currently working on a 1.3 to 1.6 conversion on my '95 Suzuki Swift GTi.
i've already fitted my 1.3 dohc head onto the g16a engine and it fits great.
but now i've got a problem to fit my 1.3 gti gearbox to the 1.6

i've modified het gear box so it fits to the 1.6 but now the axle from the gearbox to the wheel doesnt fit (the right one with the support bearing)
currently i'm using this suport bearing from a gti or shoult i use the bearing from the 1.6????

does anyone know who sells a conversion kit for 1.3 to 1.6 and its price??

excuse me for my typing and gramatical errors

None of the housings will bolt to the 1.6 block. You may be able to fit the 1.3 half-shaft housing with some milling on the mating surface. Howerver, this is only a band aid fix because only two bolts out of three will hold the bearing housing into place. It's prone to faillure under load or quick acceleration. Not a good idea to tear off a nice chunk off metal off of your block huh?

Okay, I may have a Custom housing drawn and cnc machined. How much are u willing to spend on that part?

Yes it bolt straight, the upper bolts line up perfectly, so does the mainshaft. You need to modify the block to be able to bolt the two side bolts.

Note that he's not talking about the half-shaft housing.

yes the upper bolts fits perfect i've seen that but now i've got a problem with the right axle and it's support bearing.

do i need the suport bearing of the 1.6 or gti?

can you explain what that half shaft house is??

and what do you think is the best solution for me?

right axle support bearing = half shaft bearing housing

Just different names for the same thing. I explained what to do in the previous post.

jep, I had the same problem.

I solved this to rasp a bit off the starter housing and the gasket between the the starter and gearbox.

look at my site ---> 1.6 conversie ---> page 3, last 3 pics

when i brought the idea to my mechanic of swapping the bottom half he told me that i'd have to get a G15 or G16 Gearbox housing and i could put the GTi 1.3 gears in it. but friends of mine had already done it and what they told me they did was, they machined new holes in the gearbox housing to mate with the block
