This has probably already been talked about here, but please forgive me for asking. Will the older '86 - '88 intake manifold fit on the newer style head?

Of course it will. All G10 engine blocks are virtually identical. Considering that this post is in the Carb section, I imagine that the differences in electronics won't matter. (Otherwise, you'll have a great time trying to get the Mk2+ ECU to run the car properly with the Mk1 head installed.)

I was just wondering if there would be any advantages to having the newer head on my '88 sprint and I was planning on keeping the carb.

Hi,

Yes, mk2 head is better than mk1 hea, you will need mk2 inlet manifold though.
I got info from japan and it says that rad has increase from R20 to R75for the exhaust and intake side is R70 to R100.
In the end it will flow better and actual shape has changed according to my info.

If you want know more, I can scan and post it to n1tro or someone else to upload(even though they are in Jap, you will see the difference).

Cheers
Atchi

I would be interested in seeing that inormation. I have done alot of work on both heads, with B'villetom doing alot of flow bench work on both as well. In no way was the Mk2 head better than the Mk1. If you are looking for performance, reliability, or whatever, the Mk1 head is FAR superior in every way then the Mk2.
